Move Over Harvard Man, It's Tua Time! NFL Week 7 Preview

After just two pass attempts, news broke that Tua will start against the Rams in Week 7. This was surprising news considering Ryan Fitzpatrick has been playing well this season and people figured Tua will sit this year and take over next season. Apparently coach Brian Flores had other plans and decided to make the switch after their bye week. I guess he looked at Fitzpatrick;s career and took note that he tends to play really well at first before playing really bad at the end. Having said that, fans weren't the only ones surprised by the news, Fitzpatrick had to find out about it from his phone and his kids were told about the news by their friends. Understandably, this didn't sit well with him and he even gave a heartfelt press conference detailing how this was the first time since Buffalo that he actually felt this was his team.

I understand football is a cutthroat business, just look at Tyrod Taylor's career. Even though he's a good QB he, once again, loses his starting spot due to something outside of his control. He was sidelined due to breaking his ribs vs the Rams. Then he had his lung punctured by the Chargers team doctor while shooting him up with painkillers. After a couple games, Kyle Herbert was announced starter for the rest of the season while Tyrod goes back to the bench whenever he heals up from his injuries. Fitzpatrick is no stranger to losing the starting gig, but they could've AT LEAST told him before the news got out so he wouldn't find out from Twitter.

Now there are people who say he should demand a trade since they don't respect him as a player. I ask, Who is desperate enough for that FitzMagic Touch to trade for him? The Bears have Big Dick Nick. The Cowboys have Andy Dalton to keep the seat warm for Dak to come back next year. The Giants are busy trying to make Danny Dimes a thing. The Jets are Tanking for Trevor Lawrence. Washington has Alex Smith if Kyle Allen struggles too much. And every other team either have a established starter, working with their young QB or tanking. Barring injury, there's no other place for him to start with so he rather as well stay there or go to a good team as a backup.

If he stays, that could open the Dolphins up to criticisms if Tua plays awful in these upcoming games. Sure, Fitzpatrick is well liked in every locker room he's been in but I doubt his teammates would openly reject Tua and call for Fitzpatrick to be named starter again. That won't stop fans online from demanding FitzMagic get his job back though. He's 37 years old so we may have witnessed his last start for a NFL team. But after 16 years across 8 different teams with about 71.5 million in the bank, this perfectly average QB had one hell of a ride.

THE GAMES

New York Giants        20
Philadelphia Eagles   17

Thursday Night Football is known for hosting matchups between crap teams but HOLY SHIT this is a awful matchup! Yet, considering the whole NFC East is crap, this is an important game in the race for the divisional lead. Somebody has to win (unless Philly gets their second tie of the season) so maybe ole Danny boy will sling a couple TDs in this game.

Pittsburgh Steelers   14
Tennessee Titans      31

In this battle of undefeated teams, the sim broke down and decided to go with the Titans running the football down the Steelers throat. I can't say I disagree.

Dallas Cowboys         16
DC Washingtonians   33

What the fuck is going on in Arlington? We already have players turning on the coaches and they only played six games! Like GODDAMN, how about taking some responsibility for your shitty play! Turnovers + Turnstile defense = two wins. With this much drama going on, the Washingtonians should be able to take advantage and win this game.

Buffalo Bills        27
New York Jets    23

Another game, another Jets loss. I'm glad Le'Veon Bell got out of this Tank for Trevor mission.

Carolina Panthers      28
New Orleans Saints   27

Hamburger Helper Gloves faces his old team that rejuvenated his career after a leg injury that would make Joker say "That's not funny". I go with the Panthers to edge out the Saints here.

Green Bay Packers    33
Houston Texans         29

Aaron Rodgers didn't play that well in his 38-10 lost to the Bucs (Still did the weekly Pat McAfee Show appearance though). So he should be extra motivated to beat the Texans and continue his rampage through the league.

Cleveland Browns    20
Cincinnati Bengals   10

Is it me, or the Bengals are burning out Joe Burrow? He has thrown for a league high 246 passes and has been sacked 24 times, which is one behind Eagles Carson Wentz for league lead. Where the hell is the running game? Where the hell is the DEFENSE? I hope this isn't another Andrew Luck situation where a promising player gets broken down due to a team's reluctance to provide their QB some actual HELP!

Detroit Lions        21
Atlanta Falcons   27

The Falcons finally got their first win after dumping Dan Quinn. Matt Ryan will have to sling the ball down the field some more to cover for their piss poor 32nd ranked defense.

Tompa Bay Buccaneers   37
Oakland Raiders              24

After winning his duel with Aaron Rodgers, I see him carrying that momentum into Vegas in beating the Raiders. That's if the game actually gets played this week due to multiple positive Coronavirus test results from the Raiders.

Jacksonville Jaguars       28
Los Angeles Chargers     30

Tyrod Taylor is clear to play after the Chargers' doctor punctured his lung. I honestly thought this team had more than one win with all the praise Justin Herbert gets from people. But nope, just one win. A visit from the Jags should double that win total.

San Francisco 49ers      41
New England Patriots    20

Cam Newton took blame for the Patriots poor showing this season. It's nice to see him take responsibility, but his teammates have to step up as well. I still go with Jimmy G getting a win against his old team though.

Kansas City Chiefs  29
Denver Broncos      13

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said Le'Veon Bell isn't replacing Clyde Edwards-Helaire, he's just there to give defenses another thing to worry about. I would say it's unfair they added to their already explosive offense but every other team had the chance to sign him. It's just that Kansas City is one of the few teams with the cap space and winning culture that's attractive to free agents.

Seattle Seahawks  48
Arizona Cardinals  17

This game is flexed to SNF due to the Raiders positive tests. If the simulations are correct, the national audience will miss out on seeing Tom Brady in favor of watching Russell Wilson blowout the Cardinals. Damn you Raiders!!!

Chicago Bears         10
Los Angeles Rams   41

Speaking of blowouts, no amount of Big Dick Energy will stop the Rams from kicking the Bears ass up and down the field on MNF.

LAST WEEK      9-5
OVERALL       48-42-1
